LETTER OF PROTEST AGAINST THE FIVE-MAN COMMITTEE CONSTITUTED BY OBI LG STAKEHOLDERS FOR THEIR POLITICAL FALSEHOOD

Sequel to the recent party nomination of Barr. Yakubu as the preferable aspirant for the forthcoming PDP Chairmanship Election, we, the Youth Mobilization Forum of Obi LGA noted
that the decision does not represent the wishes and aspirations of the majority of PDP members in the LGA.

We therefore disagree in entirety with the decision of the so-called committee who are hell bent on destroying the party that was painstakingly built.

We are not against the emergence of Barr. Yakubu but against the process which was not in a conformity with the party processes.

We wish to state that if a decision on a consensus candidate is to be taken, it should be done properly through a process of dialogue where all contending parties are involved, but in this case of desperate group of party's members sat down and decided on what is not acceptable to the majority and as a  PDP progressive family of Obi LGA, we disagreed with this action in strong term.

Against the process of dialogue, we are therefore appealing to the party leadership to ensure strict adherence to principles that make the party stronger and robust by allowing all aspirants to go through the democratic process of leadership, which is election.

Following the consultations carried out by the forum, We also suggest that if there is need for one of the aspirants to step down for the other then is Barr. Yakubu, after our rigorous scrutiny between the contenders.

In addition to the above reasons, Barr. Yakubu is currently the Deputy National Organizing Secretary, it will be of great lost to Obi LGA if such huge position goes out of the LG following
the track records of our huge participation in the previous elections (having produced two Members in the State  Assembly) otherwise both should go for the election.

Beside, there are thirteen Local Government Areas involved in the election, there is no way one among  thirteen decides the fate for who to run for the election.

Finally, we appeal to the party and its stakeholders to have a look into the matter so as to determine the popular candidate that can easily win election for the LG in the forthcoming party's Congress.
